CHARITABLE BEQUEST

A bequest is one of the most common types of planned gifts. You can specify your bequest to the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) as a particular dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, the residue of your estate or a specific asset such as real estate or securities. Bequests will be distributed after all debts, taxes and expenses of your estate have been paid.

When your attorney draws up your will or living trust, FSS should be designated as:

The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Inc. (IRS Tax I.D. number 06-1131090), located in Pacifica, California, whose mailing address is P.O. Box 1010, Pacifica, CA 94044 USA

FSS taxpayer identification number: 06-1131090

FSS Articles of incorporation filed: September 19, 1985

We suggest you specify that your bequest be "used in such a manner as the Officers and Board of Directors of The Foundation for Shamanic Studies shall, in its discretion, determine." If you prefer to restrict your bequest to a particular program, the FSS is pleased to work with you to ensure that your wishes will be met.

Should you choose to make FSS a beneficiary of your estate plans, please let us know your intentions. (Email: Susan Mokelke at smokelke@shamanism.org) If you would like, you can provide FSS with a copy of the relevant portion of your will or living trust so we can ensure that your wishes are carried out at the appropriate time. This information will, of course, be kept strictly confidential.
