Originated by Michael Harner, this course is the most advanced training in shamanism and shamanic healing offered by the Foundation and generally is considered unparalleled in the world. It involves intensive extended training in progressively higher levels of very advanced shamanism, including rare and little-known principles.

In this residential program, the same group of participants meets for a week twice a year for three years, with practical assignments between meetings. The program is devoted to the objective of advancing the participants' knowledge and practice as far as possible. Enrollment is limited and early application is recommended. To assure a place in the program, please return your application promptly; acceptance will be according to priority received.

PREREQUISITES: The FSS Basic Workshop: The Way of the Shaman® and either: 1. Six days of advanced FSS workshops, which must include Shamanic Extraction Healing Training or 2. The FSS Two Week Shamanic Healing Intensive -- all taught by authorized FSS Faculty Members. Applicants who have completed the Two-Week Intensive will be given special consideration by the Review Committee.

Special Offer: Fast-Track Acceptance. Attendees of the 2017 East Coast Two Week Shamanic Healing Intensive, October 22 to November 2, 2017, who complete and submit an application to the 11th East Coast Three Year program (April 29-May 4, 2018) on or before January 15, 2018* will receive expedited acceptance into Three Year program contingent upon successful completion of the Two Week Intensive, without having to complete further application materials. *Offer dependent upon available space, so do not delay your application. Nan Moss
Nan Moss has been a faculty member of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies for more than a decade, and is a certified (CSC®) in Harner Method Shamanic Counseling by the Foundation. She teaches both beginning and advanced courses for the Foundation at locations throughout the Northeast, including Boston and New York City.

In addition to her training in Core Shamanism with Michael Harner and other faculty of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Nan has also studied with indigenous healers from various cultures, including Siberian, Tuvan, Sami, Chinese, and Native American healers. Nan is the author of Weather Shamanism: Harmonizing Our Connection with the Elements and the divinatory card set Cloud Dancing: Wisdom from the Sky, as well as two articles on the spirits of weather, published in Shamanism, the journal of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.

Nan holds a B.A. in anthropology from Washington State University and a B.S. in education from Western Montana College (University of Montana), including postgraduate studies in adult education at Montana State University. She has worked as a rural schoolteacher in Montana, and as a fire lookout and forestry technician in southern New Mexico.

Location. This residential program will be held at an idyllic retreat center near Madison, Virginia, where the beauty and healing energy of the land is a powerful environment for the work.

There are 130 acres of bountiful woodlands, meadows, and gardens, which provide peace, serenity, and an opportunity to connect with nature. There are at least 70 species of birds and abundant wildlife, as well as hiking trails and a scenic walk down to the Rapidan River. The Blue Ridge Mountains and famous caverns are close by. Healthy and delicious meals of fish, chicken, and vegetarian entrees are accompanied by homemade breads, soups and desserts. On-site lodging and meals will be arranged during registration.
