Workshops in this series focus on powerful and effective methods to gain and apply wisdom from the spirits to resolve persistent problems facing humanity, our precious Earth, and its inhabitants. The Shamanic Journey: Pathway to Knowledge & Power™ is the first workshop in this series. It is the prerequisite for other online workshops.

These online reviews are available to those who have taken selected in-person, advanced weekend workshops.
Shamanic Healing Training Program =
In this program, fundamental shamanic healing methods will be covered: power animal retrieval, extraction healing, psychopomp work with the spirits of the deceased, and power soul retrieval. It will also incorporate enrichment experiences designed to provide a depth of knowledge essential to an effective shamanic healing practice.

FSS online workshops were launched in May 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We began with the Knowledge & Power Series, designed to apply shamanic awareness and the power of the compassionate spirits to personal, local, and global issues. In January 2021, the online Shamanic Healing Training Program was added. The knowledge and healing programs offer highly effective choices for students who want to learn the “way of the shaman,” where travel, work, family or other personal considerations make in-person attendance impractical. Online training also provides flexible options for those seeking to review, deepen, and enhance their shamanic practice and knowledge.

We teach these fully interactive and experiential workshops via video conferencing. Once the crisis passes, in-person workshops and training will be rescheduled. Future online offerings will be re-evaluated.

Since 1985, the Foundation for Shamanic Studies has been offering authentic, effective, and powerful shamanic training in its internationally-recognized in-person workshops and advanced residential programs. FSS training is based in core shamanism, as originated, researched, and developed by anthropologist Michael Harner (1929 – 2018) over many decades.

Basic Workshop:
The Way of the Shaman® (in person)

The skilled practice of shamanic divination, the process of consulting the spirits for knowledge, is an essential aspect of shamanic healing and of bringing the wisdom of the helping spirits to bear on personal, local, and global issues. This workshop offers students opportunities to practice journeying to contact their compassionate spirit helpers and to enhance their abilities to form on-topic questions and interpret the messages received. Participants will also experience classic shamanic ways to build and nurture strong relationships with their own spirits.

Shamanism has much to offer those seeking personal knowledge and emotional and spiritual maturity. Shamanism & Personal Transformation teaches us how to work with our spirit helpers and in ordinary reality to transform personal attitudes, emotions, and blocks to living a fulfilled and inspired life. Exercises are provided to help participants see and move beyond personal limitations to a centered and compassionate state of being. In so doing, we bring these qualities into the world to the benefit and ultimate transformation of our Earth and its inhabitants.
