Workshops and Training Programs
Thank you for your interest in training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS).
The FSS curriculum is designed to provide step-by-step training in authentic and powerful shamanic methods. Workshops are taught by the Foundation’s highly qualified international faculty. FSS faculty members have completed a rigorous training program in core shamanism and have several years of hands-on shamanic healing practice with private clients.
In addition to practicing the methods taught in the courses, individuals who wish to become effective shamans must cultivate strong connections with the helping spirits. These connections develop over time through experience and the disciplined application of the methods learned.
Ultimately, we have found that success as a shamanic practitioner is dependent on two things:
- Developing spiritual power through working with the helping spirits over a period of time
- A disciplined application of the methods taught in the workhops and training
IN PERSON
This course initiates participants into shamanism and shamanic journeying. Drumming and other techniques are used to help students enter into the shamanic state of consciousness to awaken dormant spiritual abilities and to connect with wise and powerful helping spirits.
ONLINE
The shamanic journey is a remarkable visionary method for entering into another reality. Shamanic drumming is used for the journey, to connect participants with wise helping spirits and awaken dormant spiritual power.
ADVANCED WORKSHOPS
Once you've completed either of our introductory courses, you can continue your training and deepen your personal practice with the following workshops and programs.
In Person Workshops
Effective shamanic practice and healing requires strong connections with the helping spirits. This brings knowledge and compassion, as well as increased spiritual power that may be used for personal and global healing and transformation.
This series of workshops provides hands-on practice in the primary shamanic healing modalities: power animal retrieval, extraction healing, psychopomp work, and soul retrieval.
Shamanic Depossession Healing is concerned with the souls of deceased humans remaining in the Middle World, either because they are unable to pass out of this realm, or have chosen to stay for their own reasons.
Online Workshops
Workshops in this series focus on powerful and effective methods to receive and apply wisdom from the helping spirits for personal transformation, and to resolve persistent problems facing Earth and its inhabitants.
This workshop series focuses on fundamental shamanic healing methods such as power animal retrieval, extraction healing, psychopomp, and soul retrieval. It includes experiences designed to provide the depth of knowledge essential to an effective shamanic healing practice.
Residential Programs
This residential immersion program is held in a peaceful natural setting. Students learn about the primary shamanic healing methods: power animal retrieval, extraction healing, psychopomp work, and soul retrieval. Profound initiatory experiences are included, such as the Dream Dance and work with the spirits of nature.
This residential program consists of two week-long sessions per year over the course of three years. Described as "life-changing," the training offers increasingly advanced shamanic initiatory experiences designed to expand and deepen participants' knowledge, practice, spiritual connections, and power.
This five-day training course in the Harner simultaneous narration method includes intensive development of journey skills for personal use and work with clients.
